The Seahawks have done just that this season after some iffy showings in the past, as they are now sitting at 4-3 overall and are right behind the heavy favorites to win the NFC West in the San Francisco 49ers. The Lions on the other hand need to right the ship now, or else they are asking for a very long season. They are currently sitting at 2-4 overall after losing on Monday Night Football this past week against the top team in the NFC North in the Chicago Bears. The Lions need to get this win badly, because if they don’t then they are going to find themselves at 2-5 and essentially saying goodbye to the playoffs this early in the season. Kickoff is going to be at 1:00pm EST on Sunday, and it will be played in Detroit.

Rookie QB Leading the Seattle Charge
The Seahawks have had a solid start considering that they are running with a rookie quarterback in Russell Wilson who has done very well in the bulk of the games this season. He’s had his rookie struggles at times this year, but overall he’s been a strong leader, and is proving that he belongs as the starter for the Seahawks. One key thing is that he seems to have the faith of the players in the locker room, and of course of head coach Pete Carroll. The Seahawks defense has been incredible as well this season, but they’ve been most impressive on their home field.
Detroit Lions Better Figure It Out
The Lions have to figure out these offensive issues that they’ve had. While they held the Bears to only 13 points last week, they were only able to score 7 points themselves. The biggest issues have been the turnovers, as the Lions gave the ball away three times in the redzone, one of which was an interception by Matthew Stafford. Stafford has turned the ball over far too much this season. He and Calvin Johnson need to get their connection going again, but a key issue is that defenses have been locking in on shutting down Johnson every game.

This line sits at Detroit Lions -1 and is just about what I expected. This game is big for both teams. Going to 2-5 isn’t something that the Lions can have happen, so winning this game is huge. For Seattle though they need to keep pace with the 49ers, and also with the 4-3 Arizona Cardinals as well in the NFC West. This division has the potential to come down to it when all is said and done. I think that the Lions get a big edge due to home field, and also due to the fact that this game is essentially for their season. Expect a close game, just as the line shows, but I think that the Lions win it by four at home. I would lean on the Under 43.5 in this one as well.
