Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins Preview

We love week 17 in the NFL, and we love big time match-ups as well. This week features one of the biggest match-up’s of the entire season on Sunday Night Football which will end up deciding the NFC East title. The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins were both looking up at the New York Giants in the division just a few weeks ago, but now they are going to go at it to see who gets into the playoffs as the fourth seed. The Redskins currently have a 9-7 record, while the Cowboys are 8-8 going into this game. The Skins’ can still possibly steal a wild card spot with some help, and they’ll know the outcome of that before the game kicks off. For the Boys’ though, it’s just another win and get in week 17 match-up for them.

Cowboys Win and In

The Cowboys did lose last weekend in a heart breaker against the New Orleans Saints, but after being down 28-3 in their last game against the Washington Redskins at halftime, I expect the Cowboys to come out with a much better game plan. They haven’t been very impressive in December in the past few years though, and one of the biggest flaws of Tony Romo’s game that people harp on in his December play. This December though, he’s tossed for more than 1,300 yards, 10 touchdowns, and has only one interception. This year the real issue that I’m concerned about has to be the Cowboys’ defense that has a ton of injuries on it.

RG3 Primed and Ready to Go

The Redskins have been on point with Robert Griffin III and rookie running back Alfred Morris as they’ve won six games in a row. The Redskins offense is no joke, and their defense has played up to another level as well. I think that the Redskins defense has really stepped up, but the key issue has been their pass defense, which could be in for an interesting day against the red hot Dez Bryant and Tony Romo this Sunday. Expect Griffin and Morris to do well as normal, and for them to be a huge part of leading the Redskins offensive gameplan.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins Betting Prediction

The Redskins are -3 point favorites in this one. Not the easiest of games to call here in any way. This is a huge rivalry game, and it’s one that has all of the makings to be an excellent one. The Redskins offense and their six game winning streak is very impressive. I think that the Cowboys are going to make life tough for the Redskins in DC and that this should be a hard fought game. When all is said and done, I’m going to ride the team who NEEDS this game. That team is the Dallas Cowboys, and even though they’ve let us down a bit in the past few years, this one is going to be different. Let’s roll with Dallas by a field goal and to cover the +3 point spread.
